About

Published by admin

I’m Jeff Amfahr. I live outside Cincinnati, OH with my sadly normal wife and pathetically nuclear family of 3 kids. I’ve been writing and working on software since the early 80’s, starting out on the TI-99/4a. Who could resist Bill Cosby as a spokesperson?

Since then I’ve done a whole host of coding, first in C, then 68000 Assembly, then Pascal, then C++, then Java, then C#, then VB.Net. Wait, what was the question?

I’m currently acting as product manager for Surround SCM, emphasis on acting. Surround is the best SCM tool on the planet. I liked it so much, I went to work for the company. As product manager, I’m living at the intersection of developer lane and sales boulevard. With marketing street cutting in at a weird angle. I’m trying to make sure we have the right long term plan for Surround, and we marshal our awe-inspiring marketing and support war machine to let people know how great this product is.

My goal for this blog is simple. I’ll tell you what’s going on in Surround land, and hopefully you’ll let me know if we’re building castles in a swamp.
