Interactive filters makes finding items in TestTrack quick and easy. With interactive filters, users are prompted to select criteria when a filter is applied. TestTrack filters can solve a number of requests from finding to sorting data, filters also play a big role in automation rules. Filters can be published as RSS feeds, can be interactive and dynamic, and can also be used in most list views, reports and folders.

The reason the question came up is because, while you can display a “Test Variant” column in the Test Runs list window, you can only filter the column between runs that have variants and those that do not.

You can provide a feed of critical issues to the product management team, give the product owner a feed of all stories in the current sprint, or give customers access to their feature requests. RSS feeds are based on filters you set up for specific item types. The key is to set sharing to Publish.

Filters form the basis for working efficiently with your development and QA artifacts. It’s typical for a customer to have 10,000+ issues/bugs/feature requests in a TestTrack project – filters allow users to narrow that list of data to what is relevant to them at any given moment. In this post, I’m going to highlight the filter run time feature that makes creating and maintaining a usable list of filters much easier.

The application allows you to select a Surround SCM branch and then get a list of TestTrack Pro items that have files attached from the selected branch. There is also the ability to use a TestTrack Pro filter, to limit the defects that are queried. For example, you may not care about items that are closed.
